There is a specific kind of tired that hits right around dinner prep. You are pulling something out of the fridge, your feet ache, and you already half-decided that whatever is easiest is what is happening tonight. That moment, small and ordinary as it is, is actually a crossroads. You can override every signal your body is sending and push through on caffeine and willpower, or you can trust that slowing down and feeding yourself something real is not laziness. It is a kind of wisdom.

Proverbs 3:7 says something that lands differently than most diet advice ever will. The instruction to stop trusting our own understanding and instead fear God and turn from what harms us is immediately followed, right in the next breath, by a promise tied to the body. Refreshment for the bones. The physical and the spiritual are not separate conversations here. They are one.

We live in a culture that rewards the person who pushes hardest, eats the least, sleeps the shortest. That version of wisdom is loud and it is everywhere. But real nourishment, eating slowly, sleeping before you collapse, pausing long enough to feel actual hunger, asks something that takes more courage than grinding through. It asks us to admit we do not always know what we need better than the One who made us.

This body was given, not earned. Treating it that way changes how you feed it.

## At the table today: Eat One Meal Today Without Deciding You Already Know How Much You Need

Pick one meal today, lunch or dinner, and eat it without a predetermined portion in mind. Serve yourself a reasonable plate, sit down, and check in halfway through. Are you still hungry? Still satisfied? Let the answer guide you rather than the habit of finishing what is in front of you or stopping because you think you should. This is not a diet trick. It is a small act of listening to a body that was designed with wisdom you did not program into it.

## A prayer

*Lord, where I have trusted my own noise over Your design, quiet me, and let what I eat today be a small act of trusting that You made this body well.*

## Journal

Where in your daily eating are you running on your own rules instead of actually listening to what your body is telling you?
