Hi, I’m Krista, and I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a Functional Medicine Health Coach and I am currently back in college studying Nutritional Science to become a RDN. I am so passionate about helping others heal and thrive through the power of food, wellness, and mindful living. My journey hasn’t just been about managing illness—it’s been about reclaiming my health, feeling my best, and living with vitality every day.
My Journey with MS
At the age of 17, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and my life changed overnight. I was hospitalized, unable to walk, and faced with a daunting future. The medications I was prescribed came with debilitating side effects, leaving me frustrated and feeling powerless over my own health.
Determined to take control, I began researching alternative approaches. This led me to discover functional medicine, a practice that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness. Through functional nutrition and lifestyle changes, I slowly regained my strength and vitality. Food, it turns out, had the power to heal.
Discovering the Power of Food
I transformed my diet, focusing on nutrient-dense, whole foods and eliminating those that caused inflammation. The results were life-changing—my symptoms began to improve, and I regained control of my health. This journey opened my eyes to the incredible healing potential of food, sparking a passion for helping others discover the same.
That’s why I created That Paleo Chick—to share my story and the powerful role that food and holistic wellness can play in healing. Here, you’ll find a blend of functional medicine principles and paleo recipes, offering practical advice to help you make healthy, sustainable changes.
My Philosophy
At That Paleo Chick, my approach to health is centered around functional nutrition, which uses food to support the body’s natural healing processes. But true wellness goes beyond just diet. I believe in:
